Checkerboard with strawberry

For the cookies

- 700 g of flour

- 2 sachets of baking powder

- 500 g of butter

- 800 g of sugar

- 8 eggs

- 500 ml of milk

- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

- pink dye

- Strawberry jam

For the cream:

• 100 g of sugar

• 1 egg white

• 15 cl of whipping cream

• pink food coloring

Preparation: 40 min. Cooking: 1h


Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180 ° C. In a bowl, mix the flour and baking powder and set aside. In a bowl, whip the butter vigorously until it becomes smooth and creamy. Gradually add the sugar and then the eggs one by one, mixing well. Add the flour alternating with the milk and mix. Add the vanilla extract.

2nd step

Divide the preparation in two bowls. Add 3 drops of pink dye to one of them. Fill 2 buttered molds, each 16 cm in diameter. Bake for 1 hour.

Stage 3

Remove from the oven and leave to cool on a wire rack. Cut the cookies in half thick. Make rings using pastry circles of different diameters (10 cm and 5 cm).

Step 4

Coat with jam around the rings. Fit the rings into each other - on two floors - alternating colors (the little pink in the big picture and the little nature in the big picture).

Step 5

Whip the whipping cream. Stir in the snow-white egg white. Add the food coloring. Cover the cake and smooth with a spatula. Pour the rest of the cream in a pocket with a small smooth tip and place the cream on the top of the cake.
