Clare Waight Keller appointed artistic director at Givenchy

No sooner did she say goodbye to Chloe than Clare Waight Keller resumes the path of workshops and podiums towards the Givenchy House. His appointment as head of the legendary brand's creations will take effect on May 2 with a first collection expected for the spring-summer 2018 season which will be presented next October during Paris fashion week.
The one for whom "the confident style of Hubert de Givenchy has always been an inspiration" says he is honored to join the Givenchy teams to succeed Riccardo Tisci. Evidence reigns, the group fully trusts the vision of its new artistic director who will take orders for all collections, of ready to wear the accessories universes female and male to the Haute Couture, also entrusted to his care and his talent.
It is undoubtedly the very irresistible and romantic allure of the Chloé girls, of which Clare has worked every detail for six years, which has seduced the house Givenchy. The latter is full of praise for her singular sense of elegance and modernity.
This appointment confirms a new chapter in fashion history but also that of the LVMH group since Clare Waight Keller is the very first woman to be entrusted with the reins of the management of Givenchy. The second to be in charge of the artistic direction of one of its most prestigious Maison de Couture, Maria Grazia Chiuri having been appointed head of the creation of the Dior women's collections last July. A real impetus from the group towards feminine creation.
